Sold Out
As we closed in on Kevin Wilson’s final Harry Potter poster for Deathly Hallows 2, we lamented the fact that numerous Potter fans have reached out to us over the years saying they couldn’t fully enjoy Kev’s beautiful collection because Sorcerer’s Stone and Philosopher’s Stone were both out of reach for them.
So with the idea to give fans a way to complete their collections, we discussed the idea of doing 1/1’s, a form of specialty screen printing process we first developed in 2016 with Craig Drake. When we pick our papers we go through a rigorous process to hand-select every sheet by color and color value, to make certain the paper tones will play cleanly with the artwork. We also never select the same colors from original versions, so you can be assured we won’t be replicating the colors of the original Sorcerer’s Stone and Philosopher’s Stone posters, so that they maintain distinction. Each 1/1 is also embossed as a 1/1 to differentiate them.
And the truth is, this is an extremely laborious and expensive process to produce, which comes with a lot of loss due to differentiations in paper surfaces which causes more than 20% of loss in damages… and with specialty papers costing between $5 - $30, that loss adds up quickly, which is the only reason why the price tag is $100, because otherwise it just doesn’t make sense. We do also take customer paper requests seriously, but due to the losses listed above we cannot guarantee every request, but we always promise to try.
This release was listed as a timed edition because we didn’t expect to sell our allotment this quickly, but due to the limit of appropriate papers we can source we only have a small amount of roughly 100 prints per title, which we’ve sadly already sold out on, our apologies that we cannot create more. Thank you!
