"I've had the pleasure of visiting New York several times, and while there are so many pieces of architecture that feel like living, breathing pieces of the city, one building stands out to me among them. I've never been able to personally walk through the exhibition space of the Solomon R. Guggenheim Museum, but it's the building that means the most to me for personal reasons. My late father was an incredibly talented architect, and I always looked up to him and his ability to shift with the times — relearning how to do everything he'd done his lengthy career on the drafting board and pencils and converting to the digital age. He studied under Fay Jones, who was a protege of the inimitable Frank Lloyd Wright. From my understanding, my father even studied under the man himself for a bit, and I always saw elements of his style in my dad's work. Though my dad had no hand in the building himself, his admiration for FLW makes me feel like a part of his history lives on with this building — The Guggenheim's timelessness transcends eras and has always stood starkly in the face of the ordinary."
